FBI held International Conference on Ummah 2022

The Faculty of Language Studies and Human Development (FBI) has successfully organized the International Conference on Ummah (ICU 2022) which gathered more than 155 participants from local and abroad. The two-day conference held on 4 to 5 December 2022, among others, shared opinions through 102 virtual presenters, 47 physical presenters, four virtual participants as well as two physical participants. The conference themed "Strengthening Humanity Values in Ummah Civilization of Digital Era" was held in collaboration with Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA), Princess of Naradhiwas University (PNU) Thailand, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), and Persatuan Intelektual Malaysia ( PIMM).

UMK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Razli Che Razak, the ICU 2022 in his opening speech exhorted that this conference is the best platform for academics, graduate students and the community to discuss issues related to human values, ummah civilization and the digital era which is the main theme of this conference.

"InshaAllah, the ICU 2022 conference that starts today until tomorrow will be beneficial in cultivating knowledge discourse at the national and international levels."

"This conference can also be a starting point for collaboration and strategic relationships in research between local and foreign academics," he said.

The conference involved five keynote sessions that were delivered by Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Amir Zal Bin Wan Ismail, UMK, Drs. Ec. Ahmad Cholis Hamzah (UNUSA), Dr. Lutfan bin Jaes, Dean, Center for General Studies and Co-Curriculum, UTHM, Dr. Hassan Dao from the Faculty of Engineering, PNU and Deputy Dean (Higher Degrees), Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, Associate Professor Dr. Zaharah bint Hussin. Four guest speakers also presented their papers namely Associate Professor Dr. Noornajihan binti Jaafar, Dean, Language Studies Academy, MARA University of Technology (UiTM) Shah Alam, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Janudin bin Sardi, representative from the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, UNUSA, Dr. Wardah Alkatiri d'aria and Dean, Center for General Studies and Co-Curriculum, UTHM, Dr. Halimi binti Mohd Khalid.
